Vertical Organization Brought to the Kitchen
Like many others, our first pegboard was used for tools. We’ve spent many hours in bike shops, and repair rooms, and have always loved the vertical organization of tools, and thought it would best be utilized in our own home.
Once, for a party, we lined all my shelves and bordered my pegboard with string lights, and a friend asked me how it would look if the lights were behind the pegboard, where the required spaces would provide plenty of room, and we never looked back. In it’s previous use, the pegboard was about 64 sq ft of wall space, with maybe 125 ft of rope light running behind it.
In the evening, it created a warm glow, and provided depth to the wall, and when it was the only thing on in the kitchen, was very ambient and charming. Once we moved, we decided to move away from the peg board and do a rail system.
